Akshay Maru (born 12 December 1999) is an Indian film editor and director, who works in Hindi cinema, where starting with Pari (2018), He edited films like Kesri (2019), kabirsingh (2019) and Super30 (2019). He is most famous for editing and directing in the Shortfilm Adopting a mother (2018) & I am alive for which He received the Hastakshar influences pride of mumbai Award for Best Director in 2019. He has recently edited films & Webseries like Dil se wrong number, Rang Tara Ishq No and the much talked about upcoming album song Dil Jaaniye(Cover).

He believes that editing is making something the best it can be. In her own words, "A movie is written thrice. Once, when it is written, the second, when it is directed, and the third, when it is edited. It is unfortunate that editors don't get their due. It frustrates me when people think cutting is editing."

Born to a middle-class family in Bhavnagar, He obtained a degree in Graphic design, but left the field to pursue film.

He started her career as a graphic designer, also worked with Arth i soft, AR digital media and Three Octopus Media Factory for a while, before deciding to study film making at Maya Academy of Advance Cinematics then assisting director before venturing into full-time into post-production. He has over 4 years of experience as an editor.
